Nathan's Story

October 25, 2011

In 2004 I was still weighing in at 210lbs, surviving on a diet consisting mainly of fast food. I was unhealthy and plagued constantly by sickness. Since an early age, a dream of mine was to become a fire fighter, and I realized that would never be possible if I continued down this path. After completely reconstructing my diet, I also made the gym part of my routine, running on the treadmill and lifting weights 3-4 times a week. In 2007, after a few years of running 3 to 4 times a week, I decided to try a triathlon. I won my first triathlon, after only a handful of pool swims, and a few months of cycling under my belt, and I was immediately hooked. That race sparked a love and passion for this sport, one that continues to grow each and every time I race.

In my second full season of triathlon one of my goals came true: I did win the 2009 BC Provincial Olympic Triathlon Championships, and also the Canadian Age-group National Championships. I continued to excel in the sport, even while working full time as a heavy duty mechanic, an extremely physically demanding and taxing job in itself.

2012 will see me racing my second year of Professional Triathlon, a year that will see me racing in Canada, the United States, and quite possibly Mexico. I will be chasing podium finishes, race experience in and amongst the best in the world, as well as helping my sponsors, supporters, and friends in sport, to the best of my abilities. I will also be working in my third year as a Fire Fighter in Delta, a career that I pushed myself to the brink of my abilities to attain, all the while training at the elite level for triathlon. Doing all of this puts enormous stresses on your body and system.

I include VegeGreens, Harmonized Vegan Protein, Active Mens Multivitamin, and the Omega-3 +D oil in my diet EVERY DAY, for maximum health and performance. I also love to toss the PhytoBerry into my smoothies, of which I have 1-2 a day. I can NEVER get enough of the delicious smoothies!
